Last week was a whirlwind of waiting, delicious food, and unexpected sewing talent. Buckle up, because I’m about to take you on a journey through pizza pandemonium, falafel feasts, and the surprisingly addictive world of homemade guacamole (with a twist!).
The Great California Pizza Kitchen Caper: Valentine’s Day started off with promise: a romantic dinner at California Pizza Kitchen. But then, reality bit (or should I say, the servers did). Three servers calling it quits meant a 40-minute wait for a table, followed by another 30-minute wait for drinks that weren’t even what we ordered. My mango cooler dreams were dashed, replaced by a “Cucumber Reviver” that, while not bad, did little to revive my patience. Finally, after a near 2-hour ordeal, the food arrived: guacamole (ah, a taste of redemption!) followed by a California Veggie Pizza so good, it almost made the wait worthwhile (almost). Hey, pizza and perseverance go hand-in-hand, right?
Falafel Friday and Office Adventures: The next day brought a welcome change: a casual office lunch at Aladdin, a hidden gem right outside my workplace. Falafel sandwiches, fatoosh salad, and lively conversations with colleagues washed away the lingering CPK blues. Plus, discovering a delicious and convenient lunch spot? Score!
Sew Much Fun (and Shopping): Vani, the sewing enthusiast in my life, had been on a mission: to find the ultimate Joann Fabrics with the best deals. So, Saturday found me playing supportive husband, navigating aisles of fabric and notions. Turns out, a year into her sewing journey, Vani’s creations have gone from beginner basics to designer-worthy masterpieces. She’s even taken to YouTube to share her talent! Talk about girl power (and needle power!).

Winter’s (Not-So) Bite and Big Bang Theory Bliss: This winter has been an anomaly – mild enough to ditch the shovel (hallelujah!). And to end the week on a cozy note, we finished watching all six seasons of “Young Sheldon.” While the show’s charm lies in the quirky characters, I have to admit, Sheldon himself got a bit monotonous after a while. But fear not, the journey continues! “Big Bang Theory” awaits, and I’ve heard great things.
The Guacamole Grand Finale: To top it all off, I whipped up a batch of guacamole using the “secret” recipe from CPK (yes, the one with corn!). Let me tell you, it was a game-changer. Creamy, flavorful, and with a unique crunch, it was the perfect ending to a week filled with waiting, laughter, and unexpected discoveries.
So there you have it, a glimpse into my week – a reminder that even with waiting woes and minor mishaps, life can be delicious, inspiring, and full of little surprises (like corn in guacamole!). Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a “Big Bang Theory” marathon to catch… and maybe some more guacamole to make.
